Phyllis Muscat’s interest in healthcare dates back to her student days when she was studying to become a state registered nurse (SRN). Having obtained her qualifications, she moved onto theatre nursing and then as a district nurse with the Malta Memorial District Nursing Association (MMDNA), before becoming involved in the business sector as founder and managing director of Professional Health and Beauty Services limited (PHBS)
and Biocare limited.

Phyllis is also active in other sectors of civil society, having co-founded the Malta Association of Beauty-Therapists (MABT), and the CIFEC, (European Federation of Beauty Therapists). The mother-of-two is currently a member of the Malta Chamber of Commerce, the Maltese-French Chamber of Commerce, and The Malta Association of Women in Business. She has also served as committee member of the Maltese-American Chamber of Commerce.
