Esther Sant broke new ground with regards to breast cancer activism in Malta, by creating a local forum linked to the European Breast Cancer Coalition: Europa Donna. When breast cancer struck in the year 2000 at the age of 36, she reacted by contributing to the Breast Cancer Support Group as assistant secretary and later confounding Action for Breast Cancer Foundation in March 2007.
She is passionately active in all spheres of life: organising specialised courses on breast cancer for healthcare professionals and volunteers; media information campaigns; co-directing the family business, “S.S. Lifts Ltd”, and last but not least taking care of her three teenage boys.
